1995 VS HSV Clubsport – HSV238

This 1995 VS HSV Clubsport, build number HSV238, was purchased from a farmer near Rotorua who had owned the car for 19 years. It was bought as a surprise Christmas present for Vicky.

Although the car was running well, it needed a fair bit of cosmetic and restorative work to bring it back up to standard. The interior was thoroughly cleaned and refreshed, and a better set of front seats was purchased and installed. The original tri-spoke wheels were already on the car, so they were retained as part of its character.

Another issue was the glass. Years of exposure to the sulphur in Rotorua had caused it to deteriorate and become badly pitted, so replacement glass was sourced and fitted.

To finish the job, the body received the panel repairs it needed and was treated to a complete new paint job. With the interior improved, the damaged glass replaced, and the bodywork restored, HSV238 was transformed into a much tidier and better-presented example while still retaining its original HSV character.
